Felix Apocolocyntosis

Regular price $38.00

Upon their death, Roman emperors were supposedly transformed into an immortal god through the process of “apotheosis." However, according to a satyrical work by Seneca the Younger, when Claudius died on October 13 AD 54 he went through the unique process of "apocolocyntosis (pumpkinization)" - which reflected both his rule and persona (at least according to the author).

Our original design is a modern take on Seneca's trolling of the former emperor, which reflects the spirit of the text as well as the Halloween season!
